Breaking news: the Affordable Cat Act, also known as APLCat, will be enacted this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Cleveland APL with the goal of increasing access to affordable, quality, feline companionship.  “We believe that every animal-loving Greater Clevelander should enjoy the benefits of having a wonderful kitty companion for their family,” says Sharon Harvey, President and CEO of the Cleveland APL.  “APLCat means a cat in every home!”

The Affordable Cat Act ensures you are getting the most for your dollars.  For the adoption fee, you will receive a cat that has been spayed or neutered, is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and has been tested for FeLV and FIV.  You will also receive a free collar with a personalized ID tag.  Also, as a result of the ACA, every cat adopted over these three days will have microchip identification and will come with 45 days of free ShelterCare pet health insurance.  Most of all, though, you will receive a priceless lifetime of love and companionship!

Participation in the Affordable Cat Act begins Friday, March 7th, and runs through Sunday, March 9th.  In honor of the ACA, all feline adoption fees will be reduced beyond our already affordable low adoption fees.  Visit one of our adoption centers for specially reduced cat adoption fees of $10 for adults cats and $30 for kittens under 5 months. (Regular adoption fees are $45 for cats and $95 for kittens.). The Cleveland APL’s adoption centers are located at the Cleveland APL’s facility at 1729 Willey Avenue in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland and inside the Parma PetSmart® on Ridge Road.

All animals adopted from the APL have been spayed-neutered, tested for heartworm or FeLV/FIV, have received age appropriate vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas, and come with helpful species-specific animal care information, a free initial veterinary exam, a collar, personalized ID tag, and are eligible for 30-45 days of free ShelterCare pet health insurance. Cats and kittens come with a travel box, and dogs and puppies go home with a leash.  All adoptable animals can be seen here or by downloading the Cleveland APL’s IOS adoption app from the iTunes store.

Please call the APL at 216-771-4616 with any questions about adopting.
