Sadie is a 12-year-old, overweight, geriatric pit bull mix who was given up because her owner moved and could not afford to care for her anymore. Sadie was at the APL for a very long time. She spent some time in the home of an APL FosterCare volunteer, where she got lots of walks and smaller meals to help her lose weight. When she came back to the APL, we did everything to get her adopted. She went to lots of offsite adoption events where she charmed everyone she met but no one thought she was a good fit for their family. When her happy ending came it was with a family who saw her on social media and who only adopted senior dogs. Sadie won the jackpot with her new family and we regularly get updates and photos of a happy Sadie in her new home!
