On March 9th at approximately 1:00pm, at the corner of East 111th and Superior Ave, a witness reported seeing three African American men, between the ages of 16 and 20 years old, taking turns kicking and beating a dog with bricks and sticks. One wore a black hoodie with a Nike logo and black sweatpants, one wore a khaki-colored hoodie and jeans, and another wore a grey winter hat and a North Face fleece.
The dog, named Indiana Bones, is a one-year-old white and fawn-colored bully breed mix. Currently, he is at the Cleveland APL receiving treatment for his injuries and will require surgery. Veterinarians who have examined Indiana have concluded he was hit by a car prior to being beaten by the three suspects.
Indiana Bones will need multiple surgeries for his injuries. This care will exceed $1,000, with more care yet to come. It is only thanks to generous donations to the Cleveland APL’s Second Chance Fund that we are able to care for animals like Indiana Bones.
The Cleveland APL’s Second Chance Program, which is funded solely by donations from caring people like you, is what we use to provide medical care for injured and ill animals who need our help. This is where we turn to you. With your help, we can give Indiana Bones a second chance. Please donate today to help us help Indiana Bones as well as the many other ill and injured animals who come to us in need.
Cleveland APL Humane Investigators are asking for anyone with information about this incident or the identity or location of the suspects to call the Cleveland APL’s Humane Investigations Hotline at (216) 377-1630. A $500 reward is being offered to the first person who provides information that leads to the apprehension of a prosecutable suspect.
