The Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL) has been given a tremendous opportunity to help more animals through an anonymous friend who has offered to match all responses up to $10,000 if received by December 31. We are deeply grateful, but animals like Grumpy and Herman will be even more grateful.

Grumpy, a seven-year-old cat, was brought to the Cleveland APL by a Good Samaritan. She had noticed a cat wandering around her neighborhood for a few months and realized he had no home. Since the weather was starting to get colder, she didn’t want to see this precious animal outside. Grumpy was underweight, had a cyst on his back, was declawed and neutered, and after arriving, we learned he had early kidney failure. He was sent to a foster family to care for him, but while in foster, his family determined that this senior cat was one of the friendlies, most loving guys around–it didn’t take long before his foster decided to adopt this happy cat!
hermanHerman, a three-year-old dog, spent a little over seven months at the Cleveland APL in search of his perfect family. Despite his loud bark while in his cage, Herman was a very smart and well-behaved dog. Because he didn’t do well in the shelter environment, Herman was sent to a foster home where he flourished and started to let his true personality shine. He didn’t bark, was housebroken, and very sociable to every person he met. And after four days in foster care, he found a way into his foster mom’s heart and is enjoying his happily ever after.
We are honored that we are able to care for amazing animals like Grumpy and Herman. If the APL was not here for homeless animals-in-ineed, it is hard to say where they might be today. But, thanks to the support of generous people like you, we are able to assist more than 14,000 animals each year.
When you make a gift today, it is automatically doubled! By making a gift today, you will make twice the difference for animals in need.
Untitled-1The Cleveland Animal Protective League provides animals with lifesaving medical care, spay/neuter, enrichment, warm beds, nutritious meals and eventually, wonderful new families. Healthy, friendly, and humanely and safely treatable animals are never euthanized for time limits or space. It’s folks like you who help us provide these lifesaving services. You see, the Cleveland Animal Protective League does not receive government funding or tax dollars in support of our operations, and we are not governed by any national animal welfare organization. Our success depends on caring individuals in our community—people like you—who see the value of animals’ lives and who want our world to be a better place for all.
Thanks to you and others like you who love animals, Grumpy and Herman have received the care that they needed before finding places to call “home.” We hope you will help us take advantage of this amazing opportunity. By making a gift before December 31, you will double your donation. Please give today and help us create new beginnings for more animals like Grumpy and Herman.
