Cleveland, OH (March 16, 2015) – On Friday, March 20th, from 5am to 7:30pm, the Cleveland Animal Protective League will be live on air every half-hour on WKYC Channel 3. These vignettes that will broadcast live from the Cleveland Animal Protective League, will showcase the diverse and meaningful work the Cleveland APL does to rescue, heal, nurture, adopt and advocate for the animals in need in our community. All funds raised on March 20th will directly benefit the Cleveland APL and its animals. Please watch and turn your compassion into action for a day of fun only on WKYC-TV3!
In honor of this special and exciting event, we are extending our adoption hours and reducing our adoption fees. On Friday, March 20th, 2015, the APL will be open from 8am until 8pm, and select adult cats (1 year and over) will be available for adoption for only $3. (Regular adoption fees are $45 for cats.)
“We’re thrilled and honored that WKYC Channel 3 has chosen to spotlight the work we do for animals,” says Sharon Harvey, President & CEO of the Cleveland APL. “Every year, we help thousands of animals that are homeless, injured, ill, abandoned, neglected, or abused. We hope Greater Clevelanders will tune in to learn more about the animals at the APL and how they can help. And if you have room in your heart and home, stop by the shelter to meet our special animals and help in the best way possible—adopt love!”
All animals adopted from the APL have been spayed-neutered, tested for heartworm or FeLV/FIV, have received age appropriate vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas, and come with helpful species-specific animal care information, a free initial veterinary exam, and are eligible for 30-45 days of free ShelterCare pet health insurance. Cats and kittens come with a travel box, and dogs and puppies adopted from the Tremont center go home with a free collar and a leash. All adoptable animals can be seen at www.ClevelandAPL.org or by downloading the Cleveland APL’s free adoption app on iOS or Android devices.
Please call the APL at 216-771-4616 with any questions about adopting.
