CLEVELAND, OH (October 31, 2016) – The Cleveland Animal Protective League is hosting its annual gala fund-raiser, Fur Ball – Peace, Love, & Happiness, on Saturday, November 5, at the InterContinental Hotel Cleveland. Hosted by WKYC-TV’s Monica Robins, the gala will benefit the APL’s Second Chance Program. The goal of the Second Chance Program is to provide veterinary care for wonderful animals who are looking for another chance—a chance not only to survive, but also to heal and start a new, healthy life with a loving family.
Fur Ball will include silent and live auctions, dinner, inspirational video presentations featuring stories of animals who have benefitted from the Cleveland APL’s Second Chance Program, and a surprise guest appearance from a VIP (Very Important Pooch)! Some of the auction items include an opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a Cleveland Indians game, a 5-day stay for 5 people at a vacation home in Key West, Florida, and the opportunity to have your pet photographed to be on the cover of the 2018 Cleveland APL calendar.
Funded by donations, the Cleveland Animal Protective League is a private, 501(c)(3), nonprofit humane society and progressive leader in animal welfare. Our mission is to foster compassion and end animal suffering. Every day, we rescue abused and neglected animals, offer shelter to homeless pets, promote compassionate and responsible pet guardianship, and strive to elevate the status of companion animals in our society
