Beebe is a sweet guinea pig who came to us after his owner could no longer care for him. When he arrived to the APL, our veterinary team found multiple painful bite wounds on his chin, back, and leg caused by other guinea pigs in the home. Despite treatment with pain medication and antibiotics, several of his injuries failed to heal properly and developed into painful abscesses. After a specialist consultation, it was determined that surgery is the safest and most effective way to remove the infection and give Beebe the best chance at a full recovery.
