To report a suspected case of animal neglect or cruelty, call our cruelty hotline at 216-377-1630 and provide the information listed below. Please note, this information is necessary to ensure a quick response to the call, for the safety of the responding officers, and to increase our ability to provide assistance to animals-in-need.
- Please provide your name and a call back number.
- Street address of alleged violation (if no house number describe building and give nearest address).
- As accurate a description of the problem as possible and number of animals involved.
If you are calling with an extreme emergency after hours, please contact your local police for assistance.
Please do not e-mail your complaint. Our humane society agents check the hotline from 8 am to 5 pm weekdays and 9 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. Leaving a detailed phone message will assist our officers in responding to your concerns in the most efficient manner possible.
Our humane society agents work diligently to end animal cruelty and neglect through education, investigation, and prosecution of offenders. Our agents are empowered to enforce the State of Ohio animal protection laws within the jurisdiction of Cuyahoga County (ORC 959) and Cleveland Municipal animal protection laws. Improper care of animals, including acts of malice, lack of sufficient food, water, shelter and veterinary treatment, is illegal and may be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!
