BE AN ANGEL! Adopt a cat-in-need for only $5

Since 1913, the Cleveland APL has been housing abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals in order to find them loving and safe homes to call their own. Everyday, people from our community work tirelessly to help rescue, care for, and love these animals and, every time an animal is adopted from our shelter by a loving family, hope is found where there was none before.

August 22nd is Be an Angel Day, a day that was created to encourage more people to be like angels and to initiate random acts of kindness.  To further encourage angelic behavior, and in celebration of the countless angels around Northeast Ohio, the Cleveland APL is offering all cats and kittens for a reduced adoption fee, this weekend only.  This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (August 19-22, 2010), you can adopt one kitten (up to 5 months) for $20.00 and when you adopt one adult cat (5 months to 6 years old) you pay only $5.00. (Regular adoption fees are $45 for adult cats and $95 for kittens)

“There is nothing more kind, compassionate, and for that matter, angelic than helping an animal in need,” says Sharon Harvey, Executive Director of the Cleveland APL.  “We like to think of it as paying it forward to help two lives … the life of the animal you’re adopting and the life of the animal who now needs that cage and our care.”

All animals are spayed-neutered, tested for heartworm or FELV/FIV, have received age appropriate vaccinations and treatments of worms and fleas, and come with a collar and APL ID tag, helpful species-specific animal care information, and free initial veterinary exam. Cats/Kittens come with a travel box, and dogs/puppy adoptions include a leash. All adoptable animals can be seen at www.ClevelandAPL.org. Please call the APL at 216-771-4616 with any questions about adopting.
