The Cleveland Animal Protective League is once again teaming with Q104 radio, for the fourth annual Pledge for Pets Radiothon.  The Radiothon, hosted by Q104’s morning show team of Rebecca Wilde and Allan Fee, will broadcast live from the Cleveland Animal Protective League on Friday, May 8, from 6 am to 6 pm, and on Saturday, May 9, 2009, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Starting March 2, 2009, the Doggy Dollars/Kitty Kash campaign will give adults and children an opportunity to collect donations from friends, family, classmates and co-workers. Interested animal lovers just need to call the APL at (216) 377-1628 or go to www.q104.com and request a fundraising kit.  All Q Cash Captains and Kids will be invited to attend the Radiothon’s kick-off event, the Doggy Dollars/Kitty Kash Bash, being held at the RainForest at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on May 6.  There, they will turn in their donations and meet Wilde and Fee.

The “Q Cash Kids” program is sponsored by Cleveland Indians DH Travis Hafner and his wife, Amy, both dedicated APL supporters. “Q Cash Kids” who collect more than $500 in Doggy Dollars and Kitty Kash will receive memorabilia signed by Hafner.  Cleveland APL Executive Director Sharon Harvey praised both Q104 and the Hafners for their significant contribution to helping homeless animals.  “Thanks to the truly incredible commitment of Rebecca Wilde and Allan Fee and the whole Q104 team along with Travis and Amy’s inspired involvement, we’re able to raise much needed funds that support the care of the animals that come to the APL.  If you believe homeless animals deserve a second chance, please become a Q Cash Captain or Q Cash Kid or call in and tell these wonderful people how much their efforts mean to you and our community.  While you’re at it, please consider making a pledge that will change the life of a homeless animal.”

In its first three years, the Q104 Pledge for Pets Radiothon has raised nearly $400,000 for homeless animals at the Cleveland Animal Protective League.  Equally important are the 300 animals that have been adopted as a result of the event.
