You may submit a survey ahead of your visit to the shelter if you would like to decrease your wait time. All adoptions are first come, first serve and take place in person at the APL.

  • By submitting this application you agree to the following policies:

    1. The adopted animal will live as a companion and will not be used for breeding, slaughtered for food or religious purposes or used in illegal activities such as cockfighting.

    2. The animal will receive routine and emergent care as needed from a qualified veterinarian at the owner’s expense.

    3. The animal will be kept in humane conditions appropriate to its age, health and behavioral needs.

    4. The Cleveland APL reserves the right to refuse an adopter’s application for any reason at any time during the adoption process.

    I, the applicant, agree to adhere to the above adoption policies and affirm that information provided is true to the best of my knowledge. I understand that if approved for adoption I am expected to make substantial commitment of my time and money for the length of the animal’s life, which may exceed ten years.
