Cleveland, OH (August 3, 2010) – In 1976, the first ‘Twins Festival’ was held in Twinsburg, Ohio. When the festival first started, 37 sets of twins attended. Today twins come from all over the world to Ohio, and well over 2,000 twins now attend the festival. In 1980, the Governor of Ohio proclaimed the first weekend in August as ‘Twins Day’.
In celebration of the festival that originated in Ohio, the Cleveland APL is offering adopt one, adopt a second one for no fee for all cats and kittens. In addition, we are lowering the already low adoption fee on the first cat or kitten adoption. This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (August 6-8, 2010), when you adopt one kitten for $40.00, you may adopt a second one for no fee; and when you adopt one adult cat (5 months to 6 years old) for $20.00, you may adopt a second one for no fee.
“Cats and kittens love having another feline companion to spend their time with,” says Sharon Harvey, Executive Director of the Cleveland APL. “Just like twins, they do better in pairs—especially kittens—and we’re thrilled to be able to tie this event in with a festival that celebrates twins, friendship, and family. Add a fantastic feline companion—or two—to your family today!”
All animals are spayed-neutered, tested for heartworm or FELV/FIV, have received age appropriate vaccinations and treatments of worms and fleas, and come with a collar and APL ID tag, helpful species-specific animal care information, and free initial veterinary exam. Cats/Kittens come with a travel box, and dogs/puppy adoptions include a leash.
