Spring is in the Air at the Cleveland Animal Protective League

Adult dog adoption fee slashed on April 22 and 23 only!

Spring is the time for new beginnings and so it’s also the perfect time to bring a new dog into your life. The weather is getting warmer, the grass is greener, and it’s time to get outside and enjoy it. There’s no better way to enjoy the new energy that spring brings to us than to share it with a new pet: so the Cleveland APL says, “Recycle love … ADOPT A DOG!”

Plus, research has shown that dogs can make us happier and healthier; they can reduce blood pressure, reduce stress, help us reach our exercise targets, and increase happiness. Pet adoption also brings added benefit to families because by choosing to adopt from a shelter, they will feel good about helping a homeless animal in need. And, to encourage adoption even more, we’re lowering our adult dog adoption fees for two days only. What are you waiting for?

This Friday (April 22, 2011) and Saturday (April 23, 2011), you can adopt one dog over the age of five months for $50.00. Promotion limited to one dog per household. (Regular adoption fee for dogs 5 months and older is $85.00.)

“Many people don’t realize the benefits of the companionship and friendship that comes as a result of bringing a new pet into their lives,” said Sharon Harvey, Executive Director of the Cleveland APL. “Having a pet can help you be healthier; help you to relax, and remind you of what really matters. Pets can boost our energy levels and our overall sense of well-being. And best of all, you’ll be making a difference that really matters by giving a homeless dog another chance at love. Quite frankly, especially with this promotion, you can’t afford not to bring a new canine friend home today!”

All animals are spayed-neutered, tested for heartworm or FELV/FIV, have received age appropriate vaccinations and treatments of worms and fleas, and come with a collar and free, personalized ID tag, helpful species-specific animal care information, and 30 days of free pet health insurance and a free initial veterinary exam. Cats/Kittens come with a travel box, and dogs/puppy adoptions include a leash.

Please call the APL at 216-771-4616 with any questions about adopting.
