Volunteer at the Cleveland APL

Our volunteers are invaluable!

Volunteers are the heart of our organization and are vital team members who help us to achieve the impossible, fulfill our mission, inspire us to be our best, and advocate for animals and their care throughout our community.

Turn your compassion into action and get involved!

We are slowly adding new adult volunteers to our team by invitation only and based upon our current volunteer staffing needs due to our current shelter construction and renovation along with our ongoing evaluation of COVID-19.  Our Pet Partners Program, youth ages 9-15 with an adult partner, teen volunteers, ages 16-17, and group projects are temporarily suspended at this time.  We do not offer on-site community service hours for school or court community service.  Students needing service hours may complete off-site projects as listed under the Frequently Asked Questions on the volunteer section of our website.

We are looking to continue to grow our foster care team at this time.  If you are interested in learning more about caring for animals in your home on a temporary basis, please send an email to [email protected] with your interest.

Otherwise, please submit an online volunteer application found on the volunteer section of our website, www.clevelandapl.org. Your application and email will be used to invite you to attend an assignment specific virtual orientation via Zoom when we have open positions available and when we are ready to add to our volunteer team at the APL.  We do not know any future dates or times of any orientation at this time. Again, you will be notified by email so keep an eye out for this information.  Please note that we do not respond to inquiries regarding the receipt of volunteer applications due to the volume of applications received.

Please note that this updated information may differ from what is listed on our website at this time.
