Stay-at-Home Order |  FAQ

This afternoon, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced a “stay at home” order – that was also signed by the state’s health department director, Dr. Amy Acton. The order will go into effect at 11:59 p.m. Monday to April 6, at which time is will be reassessed. Animal shelters, rescues, kennels, and adoption facilities are included on the list of essential businesses.

The “stay at home” order is aligned with precautions the Cleveland APL has already taken:  Social distancing. Sanitation. Working from home when possible. Limiting public access to the shelter and interaction with staff and Limiting the number of people who can gather. The order makes common sense exceptions to staying at home and permits activities such as going to the grocery store, pharmacy, doctor, gas station, walking in parks, picking up food and receiving food delivery, and taking care of others, including pets.
