 Human Resources / Employee Post-Vaccine Guidelines / Re-Entry SOP

PHASE 4C—September 10, 2021

September 10, 2021 – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Ohio Department of Health have updated and revised COVID-19 guidance for employers. Accordingly, effective September 10th, the Cleveland APL will put the following measures in place:

ALL EMPLOYEES, Vaccinated and Unvaccinated shall wear facial coverings and socially distance at all times, when:

  1. In any indoor facility location, including at the Cleveland APL.
  2. Outdoors and unable to consistently maintain a distance of six feet or more from other employees, clients, or other visitors, including while on Cleveland APL property.
  3. Proper facial coverings will be added to work-safety personal protection equipment (PPE) as required by OSHA.

FULLY VACCINATED EMPLOYEES  [TESTING & QUARANTINE GUIDELINES]

Fully vaccinated employees can refrain from testing and quarantine (if asymptomatic) following a known exposure unless they are residents or employees of a correctional or detention facility or a homeless shelter.

  1. Fully vaccinated employees should monitor for symptoms for 14 days following an exposure, but, if asymptomatic, may still come to work.
  2. Fully vaccinated employees, if symptomatic, should get tested and quarantine. If the test is positive, fully vaccinated employees should not visit public or private settings for 10 days, including not reporting for work at the APL.
  3. Options to reduce quarantine

Reducing the length of quarantine may make it easier for people to quarantine by reducing the time they cannot work. These are the current quarantine recommendations of the Ohio Department of Health.

  • After day 10 without testing [with no symptoms]
  • After day 7 after receiving a negative test result (test must occur on day 5 or later)

Fully vaccinated employees who come to work with symptoms of COVID-19 may be sent home. The Cleveland APL may check an employee’s temperature if she/he/they appear to have a fever. Fully vaccinated employees no longer need to report their temperatures or respond to the health questions at the APL unless asked.

UNVACCINATED EMPLOYEES  [TESTING & QUARANTINE GUIDELINES]

UNvaccinated employees should be tested and shall quarantine for 14 days following a known exposure.

UNvaccinated employees shall stay home and may be sent home if they have a fever or symptoms of COVID-19 while at the APL. The Cleveland APL may check an employee’s temperature if s/he appears to have a fever or be ill with COVID-19. NOT vaccinated employees should continue to perform self-health assessments prior to coming to work but no longer need to report temperatures or respond to the health questions at the APL unless asked.

All other COVID-19 safety measures will remain in place at this time, including enhanced cleaning protocols, health self-assessments at home, universal precautions, and social distancing whenever possible and/or practical.
