Released: June 13, 2016 – Governor John Kasich recently signed three bills into law that strengthen animal cruelty penalties and protect people who try to help animals in emergencies. The Cleveland APL applauds Ohio Legislators for passing improved animal protection laws.
Released: May 24, 2016 – Last week, the Cleveland Animal Protective League Humane Investigators opened 23 new cases of suspected cruelty and/or neglect. In just six days, they brought in 33 cats and 23 dogs. While none of these animals are currently available for adoption, our kennels are now completely full. We need the community’s help.
Released: May 12, 2016 – Are you looking for an independent pet who doesn’t need a lot of supervision? Do you dread having to ‘potty train’ your kitten or puppy? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then maybe adopting a pet that is “Full Grown and Ready for a Home” is the route for you!
Released: March 7, 2016 — This March marks “St. Pitty’s Day” at the Cleveland Animal Protective League! This St. Patty’s Day, select dogs at the Cleveland APL will be available for $30 off their adoption fee.

Released: February 12, 2016 – This time of year, you may plan on buying chocolates and wine for that special someone in your life, but not everyone should be given those treats. It is important to be aware of what Valentine’s Day staples are within your pet’s reach this weekend.

If so, you should make your way to the Cleveland Animal Protective League and offer one of our many bachelors or bachelorettes ‘a rose,’ or better yet – a home.
Released: December 21, 2015 – The Cleveland Animal Protective League’s project CARE (Community Animal Retention Effort), an outreach support service for pet-owning residents in a targeted area of Cleveland, will hold its’ third annual holiday “Give Back Day” on Wednesday, December 23rd. Project CARE’s goal is to help preserve the human-animal bond by keeping pets with families who love them.
Released: December 14, 2015 – The magic of the holiday season is upon us. Cheerful music is playing, cookies are baking in the oven, family and friends are coming together to celebrate this joyous time, and folks are warming up by the fire. Here at the Cleveland APL, we recognize the importance of family during the holidays, which is why we would love to help you add to yours by adopting a pet to be “delivered” to your home by our APL elves on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Released: December 8, 2015 – “A short time ago, in an animal shelter close, close by, there were lots of wonderful cats and kittens who were waiting for loving homes…” Sound like the opening of a Star Wars movie? It is! Well, sort of… The time is now, the shelter is the Cleveland APL, and the cats and kittens are available for adoption and waiting to join your force – or family!
Released: November 23, 2015 – This season’s most sought after – and most elusive – holiday desire is available now at the Cleveland Animal Protective League: LOVE! The Cleveland APL is getting into the holiday spirit this Black Friday by offering reduced adoption fees to animal lovers who would like to add a cold nose with a warm heart to their family. On Friday, November 27th, only, all cats will be available for adoption for only $10 and kittens will be available for only $25. The Cleveland APL is certain that there’s not a better “deal” to be found anywhere for people who are looking for the gift of unconditional love and companionship this holiday season.

While getting ready for the upcoming football season, we are holding a “Fantasy Fuzzball Weekend” at the Cleveland APL. There are lots of adorable fuzzy friends who are waiting for loving homes, and we want to see them all get drafted!

Tom Cruise isn’t the only one on a mission! The Cleveland APL team is also on a mission to find loving homes for all of the wonderful cats and kittens in our adoption centers and we need your help! We need to find loving homes for 100 cats and kittens who are currently available for adoption at our adoption center in Tremont and at the PetSmart Charities® Everyday Adoption Center in the PetSmart® store in Parma.

It may be too soon to start thinking about the holidays, but it’s never too soon to think about adopting a feline friend! Enjoy the warm July weather and the love of a feline friend and celebrate CATmas in July with the Cleveland APL. Nothing says “halfway to the holidays” like family, and nothing says family like a new furry companion. The Cleveland APL is spreading holiday joy in July by reducing their adoption fees in order to find more animals loving homes.

There is much excitement and anticipation surrounding the Cleveland Animal Protective League this week. Rumor has it that kittens have made their arrival and joined the cats at the Cleveland APL’s Purrassic World! Since the APL is being taken over by these sweet, cuddly animals, their adoption fees are being reduced in order to find more animals loving homes.

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Friday, May 8th, Q104’s morning team will broadcast from the Cleveland Animal Protective League to raise money for homeless animals during the 10th Annual Pledge for Pets Radiothon, presented by The PUP Program at Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. Listeners will be treated to heartwarming stories of survival and happy endings with the hope that they will be inspired to call-in and make a gift that will change the life of a homeless animal.

The Cleveland Animal Protective League and Q104 are teaming up for the 10th Annual Pledge for Pets Radiothon. On May 8th and 9th, Q104’s morning show team will be broadcasting live from the Cleveland APL to raise money for homeless animals. This year, in an effort to help even more animals, the APL is hosting a Rockin’ Rescue weekend in conjunction with Radiothon and reducing its adoption fees for cats and kittens.
