Released: March 15, 2017 – On March 9th at approximately 1:00pm, at the corner of East 111th and Superior Ave, a witness reported seeing three African American men, between the ages of 16 and 20 years old, taking turns kicking and beating a dog with bricks and sticks. Cleveland APL Humane Investigators are asking for anyone with information about this incident or the identity or location of the suspects.
Released: February 6, 2017 –  On Saturday, February 18, at 10 a.m. the Cleveland APL will host the second Cat Yoga event led by Meowmaste Cat Yoga.

Released: November 18, 2016 – Instagram Sensation @tunameltsmyheart will be visiting the Cleveland Animal Protective League for a special Thanksgiving Day appearance. This Thanksgiving, Tuna is encouraging his followers to exemplify the “giving” aspect of Thanksgiving and make a donation to the Cleveland APL while visiting.
Released: November 16, 2016— After a long journey to recovery, horses Scarlett and Luna will now begin their trip to their new home. In early January, the Cleveland APL’s humane investigators were called to the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds because of a report of malnourished and neglected horses.
Released: October 31, 2016 – The Cleveland Animal Protective League is hosting its annual gala fund-raiser, Fur Ball – Peace, Love, & Happiness, on Saturday, November 5, at the InterContinental Hotel Cleveland. Hosted by WKYC-TV’s Monica Robins, the gala will benefit the APL’s Second Chance Program

Released: August 24, 2016 – Earlier this month, the Gallia County Sheriffs and the Gallia County Dog Warden were assisted by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) with the rescue of 69 animals from a hoarding situation in Gallia County, Ohio.

Released: July 7, 2016—Cleveland, Ohio, is hosting the Republican National Convention this year, and not to be outdone, the Cleveland Animal Protective League is holding its own “Paw-litical” Convention.
Released: July 6, 2016 – The Cleveland Animal Protective League is accepting photos for its 2017 Pet Calendar Contest, which will give animal lovers the chance to make their furry friend(s) a star. Entering a photo in the contest is also a great gift idea for your animal-loving family members, friends, and colleagues.
Released: July 27, 2016 – This 4th of July weekend, everything is “Red, White and Mew” at the Cleveland Animal Protective League. There are plenty of adorable kittens waiting for loving families to invite them into their homes for the holiday and beyond!
Released: June 27, 2016 – This time of year is a fun and festive time as we gather with friends and family to enjoy warm weather, cookouts and celebrate Independence Day. This holiday weekend, we want to include our furry family members, but as much fun as it may be for us, it can be scary for our pets.
Released: June 13, 2016 – Governor John Kasich recently signed three bills into law that strengthen animal cruelty penalties and protect people who try to help animals in emergencies. The Cleveland APL applauds Ohio Legislators for passing improved animal protection laws.
Released: May 24, 2016 – Last week, the Cleveland Animal Protective League Humane Investigators opened 23 new cases of suspected cruelty and/or neglect. In just six days, they brought in 33 cats and 23 dogs. While none of these animals are currently available for adoption, our kennels are now completely full. We need the community’s help.
