Q104’s Jocks Call on Cleveland to Adopt Shelter Pets in July

Q104 is a huge supporter of the Cleveland Animal Protective League through the annual Pledge for Pets Radiothon.  That event has raised more than $940,000 for the APL in the past seven years.  Now they are turning their focus to helping homeless pets find their forever homes, and they hope to work their magic and increase the APL’s adoption numbers in July!

And, beginning July 1st, the Cleveland APL will have special adoption pricing to honor this fantastic partnership.  All month long, in an effort to help the wonderful cats and kittens waiting for new homes, the APL is Rockin’ Adoptions and dropping our adoption fee to $10.40 for all cats and kittens!  (Regular adoption fee for adult cats over the age of five months is $45 and for kittens is $95).

The Q104 jocks are all huge advocates for adoption and longtime supporters of the APL. “I once heard if you adopt an animal it’s as if they “know” they are getting a second chance,” said Kelly McMann (3 pm to 7 pm on Q104).  We all deserve a second chance at life.  Adopting an animal is not only life changing for them, but healing for you as well.  I believe in the APL and the next time you are looking for a “new family member” chose adoption, you will get thanked in more ways than you know.”

“These poor babies have been abandoned, neglected, and some even abused, but they have so much love to give… if you adopt and welcome them into your family, said Katherine Boyd (Fee’s Kompany).  Her partner on the morning show, Glenn Anderson, agreed, “One of the things I learned about the APL is that every animal has a story.  Shelter animals love more because they’ve been through more.  It is crucial that we find all of the wonderful animals a forever home and get the word out.”

The newest member of the Q104 team, Average Joe (7 pm to midnight), said, “I’ve been an animal lover, and dog owner all my life.  To see some without homes is heartbreaking.  We should be proud that wonderful people at the Cleveland APL find them a permanent home.  I wish I could adopt them all!”  Tim Richards (10 am to 3 pm), agreed, “I am a pet lover.  I’ve seen first hand the quality of care, love, food and shelter provided to the animals, and I feel very honored to be involved with theAPL.”
