CLEVELAND, OH (March 7, 2016) — This March marks “St. Pitty’s Day” at the Cleveland Animal Protective League! This St. Patty’s Day, select dogs at the Cleveland APL will be available for $30 off their adoption fee.
Pit bull type dogs may have been given a bad rap, but there are notable representatives of these dogs that prove that everything you hear about these sweet goofs isn’t true. The Cleveland APL hopes to prove this St. Pitty’s Day, just how wonderful these dogs can be!
Pit bulls are the only type of dog to be featured on the cover of Life Magazine three times. During World War I, pit bulls were so respected that their image was used by the US military on propaganda posters. Pit bull Sergeant Stubby is a decorated war hero from WWI and pit bull Sallie has a monument erected in her honor for her efforts during the Civil War. Cesar Millan’s kind, patient dog, Daddy, who helped act as a role model for other dogs on his show Dog Whisperer was an American Pit Bull. And we all remember Petey, the pittie and family companion from The Little Rascals.
These wonderful, loyal, affectionate and smart dogs have done so many amazing things – from the decorated war vet to the household pet that pulled her owner from railroad tracks. And you have the opportunity to add one of these loving dogs to your family!
Visit our adoption center in Tremont on Thursday, March 17 – Friday, March 18 and adopt one of our select pitties at our specially reduced St. Pitty’s Day fee of $30 off their adoption fees. (Regular adoption fees start at $95 for dogs.) The Cleveland APL is located at 1729 Willey Avenue in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland.
