Pre-Adoption Veterinary Treatments

All cats and dogs adopted from the Cleveland APL are altered (spayed or neutered), examined by a veterinarian and have received preliminary vaccinations. All cats and dogs adopted from the Cleveland Animal Protective League are given the following treatments:

DA2PP- A combination vaccine used as an aid in the prevention of canine distemper, infectious canine hepatitis, respiratory disease caused by canine adenovirus type 2, canine parainfluenza, and canine parvovirus

FVRCP- A combination vaccine used as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by feline rhinotracheitis, callci and panleukopenia viruses

Rabies vaccination if 3 months or older

Revolution flea treatment. It is designed to kill adult fleas and eggs, thus ending the reproductive cycle of fleas

Pyrantel pamoate dewormer to treat roundworms (other intestinal parasites may exist and will need to be treated by your vet)

Bordatella intranasal vaccine to protect against kennel cough

FeLV/FIV test for all felines
