This week, the Cleveland APL Humane Investigators were called to investigate a suspected cruelty case involving a young, black cat. We have been deeply touched by the number of people who have reached out with the desire to give that cat the wonderful home she deserves. Sweet Clarissa is not currently available for adoption because her case is still under investigation. However, we have many other wonderful cats in need of a home, all with a story and all deeply deserving of a second chance. If you have room in your life for a new cat like Clarissa, and you’d like to make a difference and know that you’re saving a life, won’t you consider one of these other lovely animals?
Popeye came to us at the beginning of July as a very sick baby stray who’d been fighting for his life alone on the streets. He had a severe respiratory infection. It was so bad that it left his eyes with significant damage. The infection is gone and he has vision, but his eyes are clouded and smaller than normal. Despite this minor disability, he is an absolute sweetheart; he sticks his paws out of his kennel in an attempt to get the attention of visitors. Will you be the one to stop at his cage and take him home?
Or maybe you have room in your life for Silver, a sweet senior boy whose family of 11 years brought him to us when they had to move. He was given a thorough work-up by our team, including bloodwork, a urinalysis, and a dental and he has clean bill of health. All this mellow boy needs now is a cozy bed and a family to share it with again.
Ninja is also waiting for a home. He was found after our Humane Investigators were called to an empty apartment. The tenants had taken all of their belongings, leaving a completely bare apartment, and their cat, Ninja, to fend for himself. He was there for several days before the cleaning team found him and called us. He’s a wonderfully affectionate boy who deserves a family that won’t leave him behind.
These three wonderful cats are just a few of the many fantastic animals waiting to be adopted. The hardships faced by these animals didn’t receive the national attention like Clarissa’s did but they all have a story that has left them homeless. They are counting on us and we need YOU to make a difference in their lives by giving them the home they deserve. In an effort to help get these cats adopted, we’re reducing our adoption fees for the month of October.
Beginning Sunday, October 19th and going through Friday, October 31st, all cats and kittens will be available for adoption for only $10 and a second cat or kitten for only $20. Please help us spread the word so we can help these cats! (Regular adoption fees are $45 for adult cats and $95 for kittens.)
